Academic Transcripts

You may request an official academic transcript ($10 fee) or an unofficial academic transcript ($5 fee), both of which list all the classes you have taken and the grades you received. Transcripts can be mailed to you or picked up in person from One Stop Student Services.

A transcript is a complete and official listing of the classes you have taken and the grades you received. You may need your UAB transcript if you are applying to graduate or professional schools, transferring to another institution, or applying for a job.

• Unofficial transcripts are issued directly to students and are marked "Issued to Student."
• Official transcripts are typically mailed directly to recipients such as graduate schools, professional schools, etc. If you request an official transcript sent directly to you for an application packet, do not open the sealed envelope when you receive it.
• Requests cannot be made by phone, fax, or e-mail.
• If you last attended UAB before 1982:
  • An additional processing time of two business days will be required.
  • Overnight and electronic delivery options are unavailable.

  Fees

  Official Transcript (with estimated delivery times)

  • Electronic Delivery (2-24 hours) - $10
  • Standard Mail (3-5 business days) - $10
  • Overnight Delivery - $35 (To send transcripts overnight for next-day delivery, request must be received by 3:00 p.m. Transcripts cannot be delivered to a post office box.)

  Transcript Resend Policy

  The University of Alabama at Birmingham will resend a transcript to the same address at no charge after 15 days and/or up to 30 days from the initial date of the transcript order request. Resend requests before 15 days or after 30 days of the initial order request will require additional payment.

  *Pre-82 students are not able to use the online portal and can contact our office for more information.
