John Mickowski of Tymac Controls Corp. Retains GPC, Fairfield Resources to Manage His Intellectual Property

SUFFERN, NY, June 29, 2001 - General Patent Corporation (GPC), headquartered in Suffern, New York, and Fairfield Resources International, Inc. (FRI), headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, both leading intellectual property (IP) management firms, have been retained by John Mickowski of Tymac Controls Corporation, Franklin, New Jersey, as its exclusive IP management team.

Mr. Mickowski owns a patented technology for analyzing, monitoring and/or controlling the process parameters of die casting, stamping, forging, injection molding, and plastic forming operations. The technology is protected by U.S. Patent No. 4,504,920 ("Data Analysis and Display Method for Reciprocating Equipment in Industrial Processes"), and U.S. Patent No. Re, 34,559 ("Diagnostic Method for Analyzing and Monitoring the Process Parameters in the Operation of Reciprocating Equipment"), as well as Canadian and European patents.

The validity and enforceability of these patents have been successfully upheld in the patent infringement case of John R. Mickowski vs. Visi-Trak Corporation, et al, brought in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. The case was decided in 1999 in favor of Mr. Mickowski, the president of Tymac. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC) affirmed this decision.

"We have retained GPC and FRI to manage our IP portfolio because of their well-known reputation and success in licensing and enforcing patents," said John Mickowski.

"We are delighted to represent John Mickowski and Tymac", said Paul Lerner of GPC. "The Mickowski patents have been extencively and successfully litigated in the past, and we are confident that we will be able to extract substantial value from this intellectual property."

"FRI will offer the Mickowski patents for a non-exclusive license on attractive terms" said Jimmie Howell of FRI. "If necessary, GPC will vigorously enforce the patent rights of our client."
